Skyworks Solutions, Inc. of Irvine, California USA, reported that its connectivity solutions enable next-generation tracking devices, a new and exciting Internet of Things application. Specifically, XY Findables, a maker of nearable technology has adopted Skyworks’ high efficiency, front-end systems to increase battery life and almost double the range compared to other personal item finders.
According to XY Findables, the average person spends about five hours per month searching for lost items such as TV remotes, keys, smartphones, eyewear, wallets, and purses.
A recent report from the European Global Navigation Satellite Systems Agency, predicts that personal tracking devices will become the fastest growing market within the Location Based Services (LBS) sector. The agency projects a compounded annual growth rate of 18 percent between 2016 and 2025 for personal tracking devices.
XY Findables Item Finders Employ Front-End Modules for BLE
XY Findables’ XY4+ item finders employ Skyworks’ integrated front-end modules for Bluetooth® Low Energy (BLE) range extension devices operating in the 2.4 to 2.485 GHz range. Applications for the front-end modules include beacons, wearables, sensors, home automation, and other IoT platforms.
