Riber of Bezons, France reported that the company has signed a distribution agreement with Interovamex, a Mexican company that produces Physical Vapor Deposition (PVD) systems. The company, which ex Riber engineer Jean Marc Zisa started in 1991, is said to be the largest manufacturer of high vacuum PVD system manufacturer in Latin America. Riber asserts that these systems are popular in many advanced materials research centers. Intercovamex is also said to be the largest distributor of scientific equipment in Mexico. The company has distributed Riber scientific equipment in Mexico for 22 years.
Under the terms of the agreement, Riber will become the exclusive distributor of Intercovamex PVD systems in U.S.A, India, China, Russia, UK, France, and french speaking part of Switzerland. The distribution agreement is part of Riber’s diversification into other thin-film deposition techniques and is expected to strengthen the range of equipment and services Riber offers.
