Nitride Semiconductor Files Patent Infringement Complaint Against Digi-Key

In the US District Court for the District of Minnesota, USA, Nitride Semiconductor Co., Ltd. filed a patent infringement complaint against Digi-Key Electronics on September 22, 2017. According to the company, RayVio Corporation makes these allegedly infringing UV-LED products.

Nitride Semiconductor Previously Filed Lawsuit Against RayVio

In addition to this latest infringement action on May 23, 2017, Nitride Semiconductor previously filed an application for an injunction in the United States District Court for the Northern District of California, USA, alleging that RayVio’s UV-LED products infringed its patent.

Nitride Semiconductor claims that it worked with professor Shiro Sakai of the University of Tokushima to develop the first high-efficiency UV-LED in 2000. Since that time, the company says it has served as a UV-LED pioneering company that both manufactures and sells UV-LED products. Also, Nitride says it has invested significantly in research and development to improve UV-LEDs.
