DOE Announces SBIR/STTR Funding Opportunity

The US Department of Energy (DOE) published a funding opportunity for its Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) and Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) Programs.The funding opportunity announcement (FOA), which was originally issued on November 28, 2016, is for fiscal Year 2017 Phase I, Release 2 for SBIR and STTR Programs.Under the DE-FOA-0001619 funding opportunity announcement, the DOE is looking for grant proposals directed toward FY17 Phase I, Release 2 projects. The long list of topics for the funding opportunity, which were listed in the announcement on October 28, includes LED and OLED lighting (See topic 10b pgs 39-40).

Small businesses that qualify with strong science or engineering research capabilities in any of the areas sought in the announcement are encouraged to apply for the SBIR/STTR funding opportunity. Applicants must submit a letter of intent by 19 December, to be eligible to submit a full application by 7 February.
