Stradus 488-nm Blue Laser Diode Module
Source/Type: Company News Releases

December 3, 2009... Sacramento, California USA--Vortran Laser Technology Inc. has introduced the Stradus 488-nm blue laser diode module that outputs 50 mW. The newest product in the company’s Stradus line has been designed as an affordable alternative to the standard high-power-output diode-pumped solid-state lasers that are commonly used in flow cytometry and microscopy applications. This model features digital modulation up to 200 MHz, with analog modulation at ≥500 kHz.

Features include typical beam quality of M˛ 1.25 and greater than 90% circularity. Beam diameter is 1.3 mm for all wavelengths, pointing stability is less than 5 µrad/şC, and the module produces low noise of less than 0.1% rms from 10 Hz to10 MHz.

The laser module is compatible with USB and RS-232 interfaces, and it offers automatic thermal control of the diode and of the temperature of all optical elements for good alignment and pointing stability. It is suitable for OEM tasks in a variety of areas, such as medical diagnostics, defect analysis, confocal microscopy, research and development, and laboratory applications.
