Materials firm Saint Gobain acquires GaN substrate maker Lumilog

April 21, 2008... Saint Gobain acquired Lumilog from Lumilog founders, Banexi Ventures Partners, Emertec Gestion, Sophia Euro Lab SAS and TechFund Capital on April 1, 2008. The financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed. Lumilog is the European leader in the development and production of Gallium Nitride (GaN) wafers. GaN material is a critical component for the BluRay DVD lasers and for newcoming high brightness LEDs so essential in making our lighting more energy efficient. For the year 2007, Lumilog had a turnover of €2 million. Marc Deschamps of LDA served as financial advisor and Jon Harry and Delphine Vanner of Lovells served as legal advisor to the Lumilog founders, Banexi Ventures Partners, Emertec Gestion, Sophia Euro Lab SAS and TechFund Capital.
