WJ Communications Appoints Bruce W. Diamond as Chief Executive Officer

June 29, 2005... Company Reaffirms Second Quarter Revenue Guidance
San Jose, California USA--WJ Communications announced that it has appointed Bruce W. Diamond as President and Chief Executive Officer. Mr. Diamond has been a WJ Communications Board member since July of 2003 and brings over 20 years of semiconductor industry experience in management and operations. Mr. Diamond replaces Dr. Mike Farese who has resigned from the Company in order to pursue other opportunities. The Company also announced today that it is reaffirming the guidance given on May 12, 2005 of $7.7 million to $8.5 million in second quarter 2005 revenues.

Until recently, Mr. Diamond was Chief Operating Officer and Executive Vice President at Zilog Corporation, a San Jose, CA based publicly traded provider of integrated 8-bit microcontrollers (MCU) and universal remote control solutions. Prior to this, he served as President and Chief Operating Officer for Sipex, Inc., an analog semiconductor company, where he was responsible for day-to-day operations including development of the Optical Storage, Power, and Interface products. From October 1997 to December 2000, Mr. Diamond served as Sr. Vice President of Operations for ANADIGICS, Inc., an RF-based semiconductor integrated circuit company, where he was responsible for building an industry leading GaAs (Gallium Arsenide) Wafer Fabrication facility. Earlier in his career, Mr. Diamond held various senior positions within National Semiconductor Corporation. Mr. Diamond holds a Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering from the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana.
