Formosa Epitaxy Incorporation adds further Aixtron CRIUS tools for GaN LEDs

July 22, 2008... Aachen/Germany -- Aixtron AG announced today an order from Formosa Epitaxy Inc. for four CRIUS systems in 31x2 inch wafer configuration.

Formosa Epitaxy Inc, located in Taoyuan, Taiwan, will use the systems for the expansion of its GaN-based ultra high brightness (UHB) LED production.
Dr. Fen Ren Chien, President of Forepi, comments: “Our previous CRIUS MOCVD tools perform so impressively in terms of device performance, stability and yield that we have returned to Aixtron for a repeat order. The systems perfectly meet our needs for excellent performance. We are now adding capacity to meet the huge increase in market demand.”
