Daylight Solutions of San Diego reported on Thursday that the firm is now part of Leonardo DRS. The completion of the $150 million acquisition came after the companies obtained final regulatory approvals for the acquisition. The companies first announced the deal in March 2017. Daylight Solutions said it will continue operating from San Diego, and its three co-founders, Dr. Timothy Day, Paul Larson and Sam Crivello, will remain with the company. Daylight Solutions develops laser technology that can protect aircraft against shoulder-fired, heat seeking missiles, and the laser technology can also be applied in the area oftissue diagnostics, cancer research, and pharmaceutical process control.
