A noted compound semi industry visionary since his early days at Rockwell, where he accomplished a number of CS device "firsts," Craig has been involved in various aspects of the CS industry for the last two decades. He was with Emcore for many years, first as managing director of Emcore's corporate research labs, then as VP of E2M, the electronic materials and devices business units, and as Emcore's VP of corporate operations and planning where he was also responsible for direction of acquisition activities. Craig returned to Austin, Texas in 2002, the city of his alma mater, the University of Texas, where he had been the first graduate student to study under Dr. Ben Streetman, now Dean of the the University of Texas' College of Engineering. Upon returning to Austin, Craig, who is now an executive management technology consultant, founded one of the first GaN electronic device design firms, Canyon Semiconductor, while continuing to work closely with his alma mater. He has focused most recently on the development of GaN power transistors for cellular base station applications investigating field emission devices based on GaN for high power X-band applications, and has served as an Entrepreneurial Advisor at the University of Texas.
