Asif Anwar

Director, GaAs and Compound Semiconductors Technologies (GaAs) Program within the Strategic Technologies Practice, focuses on providing strategic support and direction to companies active in the advanced electronics industry. He develops insights and analysis through both primary and secondary research into key sectors including wired and wireless communications, automotive systems and consumer electronics. As a well-respected industry expert, he often speaks at leading industry conferences.

Mr. Anwar, who joined Strategy Analytics as a Senior Analyst in 1999, has a career which spans both engineering and marketing roles in the metals, minerals and electronics industries.

Prior to joining Strategy Analytics he was a key analyst with Industrial Minerals Research, providing proprietary research and analysis in the industrial minerals sector. At Kvaerner, he provided insight and analysis on the metals industry with an emphasis on the gold sector; as a Process Engineer there, he designed process plants for the metals and water industries, successfully commissioning a major lead-zinc processing plant.

Mr.Anwar's Ph.D. studies at University of Teesside led to the successful development of a separation process for fatty acids. He graduated from the University of Teesside, UK in 1993 with a B.Eng Honours degree in Chemical Engineering. He is a member of the IChemE.
