Travel hints for those coming from international destinations:

The nearest international airport is Chiang Kai-Shek (TPE) in Taipei. The Ambassador can arrange for limosine service for about US$60, and advance reservations are needed, and they can bill the service to your room. You can contact the hotel directly for arrangements. Travel time is 30-45 minutes.

Taxis run about $45, and if you choose that option, you will want to make sure you specify the Ambassador Hotel in Hsinchu or you might end up at the Ambassador in Taipei. (Also a very nice hotel, but you won't find the conference...). You may want to print out the handy map from the hotel website, which has directions as well as the address of the hotel.

For the truly adventurous, or those who have business in Taipei just before the conference, the Hsinchu train depot is only a few short blocks from the Ambassador and offers regular service. (You'll need to speak Chinese or bring along a note that shows the "Hsinchu" station... any hotel concierge can help you with that.)
