Asked one awardee/delegate, "Is this going to be one of those hype things?" Answer was, "Sure, we have a band and everything!" "Cool, it's about time we got to the party."
"A 20-year overnight success story," the Blue Spectrum industry got together to look towards the future. Introductions included special thanks to our event sponsors.

Opportunities for catching up on a one-on-one basis were plentiful. Here, Bob Steele shares a tidbit about... well, you should have been there!
Our lively lunch speaker, Alex M.G. Burton, shared some anecdotes on the importance of making sure your message was clear and ever-present to the larger audience that drives the demand.

Shuji Nakamura accepts his pioneer award. See the complete story on the awards page.
And did you hear the one about the UV source that walked into a bar and ordered a 3D array with a 3200K color temperature...?

No, it's not a seance, or an alien space egg. Just a demonstration of a recently patented white LED light bulb and cooling approach.
The exhibits and conference were co-located in the event room, providing a nice backdrop, and an optimum opportunity for interaction during the breaks.

Some of the show and tell that came along for the ride. Try explaining that one to airport security...
And everyone's presentations were received weeks before the event, but there were one or two last minute adjustments needed to the screen saver... at least that's the story we're sticking to.
