Advanced Micro-Fabrication Equipment Inc. (AMEC) of Shanghai, China, reports that the company has shipped its 100th Prismo A7™ Metal Organic Chemical Vapor Deposition (MOCVD) tool chamber. The company says that this 100th shipment comes since the product’s introduction last year.
The Prismo A7™ MOCVD tool chamber is AMEC’s second-generation MOCVD tool, and customers use it to fabricate gallium nitride-based (GaN) LEDs and for other applications. Each Prismo A7 system features up to four chambers. And the Prismo A7 enables production throughput that the company says is more than twice as high as its first-generation MOCVD tool, the Prismo D-BLUE.
According to the firm, the AMEC products are deployed at customer facilities in China, where the majority of the world’s LED devices are produced.
AMEC Customers Include San’an Optoelectronics and HC SemiTek
AMEC says that its customers include leading Chinese LED manufacturers, HC SemiTek Corporation and San’an Optoelectronics. Since its introduction, AMEC says it has received multi-tool orders, as well as repeat orders for the A7 Prismo system. Furthermore, the company says that sales momentum is lively, and by the end of this year, the company expects to shipments of about 120 chambers.
